The Ministry of manpower stated that it is open to cooperating with digital platforms that offer Workforce Development Solutions in Indonesia.
Deputy Minister of manpower Immanuel Ebenezer Gerungan said facing complex employment challenges, improving digital skills is needed for Indonesian workers
“We are very open to working together and collaborating with digital platforms to prepare the workforce to achieve success in the job market and as entrepreneurs,” said Immanuel in Jakarta, Tuesday.
He revealed, according to Astacita 4, President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka carry the mission of strengthening the human resources quality improvement system. Both promised to improve the quality of the workforce through various certified job training.
The vice minister explained that the current condition of the Indonesian labor force is faced with various challenges ranging from mismatch between skills and roles, low productivity, barriers to access to the formal economy and uneven labor participation and compensation.
“Many jobs are threatened due to the birth of new technologies, therefore the Ministry of Labor wants to solve the unemployment problem by expanding technological innovation for the empowerment of the workforce and expanding the range of training,” he said.
Meanwhile, Advisor for Business and Government Relations Smart Deche H. Hadian hopes to work together with the Ministry of manpower, in order to support in terms of strengthening the ready-to-work platform in which there are karirhub, skillhub and sertihub.
Pintar, which is a platform for education, training and workforce development, is also ready to help with additional training other than what the job market has. Including digitizing the work Training Center (BLK) to record how much and the effectiveness of training carried out by the Ministry of manpower.
“We want to help with the technology we have so that the Ministry of manpower can further increase its reach to the community and in terms of technology and databases,” he concluded.
