He said, there are approximately 3.4 million digital business opportunities in 2022 until then it is estimated to increase to 9.7 million business opportunities in 2027.
The increase occurs in line with the development of emerging technologies such as 5G standalone and 5G advance technology, where the technology has network slicing capabilities and ultra reliable low latency communication.
This technology allows significantly increasing internet speed, expanding coverage and network flexibility.
Furthermore, artificial intelligence (AI) technology is considered to be able to increase the productivity of marketing activities as well as the efficiency of network management and management.
Citing EMR Clight data, the MoCI stated that the adoption of AI technology will increase the potential value of the digital marketing market to reach 1.1 trillion US dollars by 2032.
However, there are a number of challenges, namely the existence of a global connectivity gap, where as many as 3.4 billion people in the world do not have access to the internet.
In fact, 90 percent live in areas that have been reached by mobile broadband services.
He said the challenges of equitable 5G fast internet access include high infrastructure costs, regulatory barriers, and device prices.
In addition, cybersecurity threats such as data leakage are becoming one of the main risks faced by the global telecommunications industry.
“The issue of cyber security is important to us because it concerns data and so on,” he said.
Minister Budi Arie added that infrastructure is the foundation in the development of telecommunications and digital technology.
According to him, digital infrastructure is the main base for Digital Government, digital Economy, and digital society.
“This infrastructure includes digital talent that we currently lack, so it needs acceleration or breakthrough so that there is no large digital talent gap,” he said.
