The Ministry of Communications and Digital (Kemkomdigi) prepares a cybersecurity system to support the implementation of digital transformation.
As quoted in the ministry’s press statement in Jakarta on Saturday, Minister of Communications and Digital Meutya Hafid said that cybersecurity is a key foundation to ensure the sustainability of digital transformation in Indonesia.
“Cybersecurity is key to protecting our strategic infrastructure. We are designing a national Digital Firewall and encouraging the formation of CSIRT (Computer Security Incident Response Team) teams in every government agency to mitigate cyber threats,” he said.
To support the implementation of digital transformation, Kemkomdigi also conducts training and certification programs to prepare digital talents in accordance with industry needs.
“The Program not only includes certification but also strengthens the relationship between participants and the world of work, ensuring a real impact on people’s well-being,” says Meutya.
He said that the Digital Literacy Improvement program has reached more than 5.6 million people and participants include women and young people.
The government’s efforts to accelerate digital transformation include equitable internet access by providing Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) in areas that have not been reached by optical cable networks.
“FWA is the right solution to deliver fast and affordable internet, especially in remote areas that do not yet have a stable connection,” said Meutya.
He explained that digital transformation is aimed at realizing an inclusive, trusted, and empowering digital ecosystem.
“We invite all stakeholders to collaborate to create a digital transformation that is safe, fair, and provides tangible benefits for the entire community,” he said.
